WHY do we have a WAITLIST:

Unfortunately we are in a unique situation right now where we have more kids in Scott County wanting to play basketball, than we have available gyms and times to organize enough leagues to support the demand. Our leagues have limited number of teams and are capped at the amount of kids we can support. Year over year we have sold out faster and faster with Online registration.   If you happen to just miss the cutoff, and you are now on the waitlist that's great.  We hope your not frustrated by not getting in,  but we know it can be heartbreaking especially for some.  Angry emails/facebook posts will not help the situation and could get you blocked for the league all together. If you feel the need to contact us you can, but just know that the answer is likely going to be there's nothing we can do at this time. We are all volunteers and have limited time and resources to answer your questions in details quickly, but please know that we do want to help and we wish that we could find ways to get every kid in that wanted to play.  Even if you contact us, We likely cannot tell you your spot or if you will make it off the waitlist.   If you don't make if off the waitlist,  We hope you have better luck again next year. 

WAITLIST OPTIONS:

WERE GLAD YOU MADE THE WAITLIST, but what this means is that your not officially in the League YET!  Yes we are holding your Money, and you will receive a full Refund if you are not pulled from the waitlist.

At this point you have 2 options:   

1.)  Remain on the waitlist and wait for opening... We will hold until 1st Game and then cancel all waitlists.     

2.) Contact Us by email at scottcountyyouthbasketball@gmail.com  provide player name and league and ask for immediate refund. We will process it as soon as possible.

KEYPOINT:  IF YOU ARE ON THE WAITLIST YOU SHOULD SHOW UP FOR EVALUATION! 

By showing up for evaluations you are showing that you are still interested in playing and we are able to see your evaluation. Therefore if pulled from waitlist you may be drafted instead of randomly assigned.  Kids already on a team that are waitlisted usually return to the same team, but sometimes we can't because of the draft procedure. 

WHY REMAIN ON THE WAITLIST:

Sometimes kids that met the registration deadline backout; (Kids get hurt, lose interest, have overlapping practice times with other sports or simply decide not to play)   When a player decides to cancel we need players to make up the team so that we have a full 10 player roster.  This is why each year we allow a small number of players to signup for a waitlist.  The amount of players on the waitlist can vary year to year based on past registrations, and the Players who are remaining on the waitlist are selected to replace those players who dropped. This can happen anytime between when registration opens up until the first games are played.   This is a 2 month long period of "WAIT"  time.   If you choose to remain on the waitlist your registration fee is held in reserve and used only if you make it into the league.  if you child does not make it off the waitlist; You will be FULLY REFUNDED.  If at anytime you choose to be removed from the waitlist, you can ask for a refund by contacting us at scottcountyyouthbasketball.com   *please allow for time to process the refund.
