A. Your child’s age on the date of September 1st will determine the league they are placed. (Example: your child turns 8 on Nov 3rd. Because that child was 7 on Sept 1st, he/she will be placed in the league with 7 year olds).

Q. When does the winter Season Start and How long does it Last?

A. Evaluations are held yearly in October, then Games begin in November, and our Season usually ends in February (subject to change, pending weather cancelations)

Q. When and How Often are Practices and when do I find out about the practice day for my child?

Q. How are players put on teams?

A.  After evaluations, players are drafted on teams by team coaches, and supervised by SCYB Board members and League coordinators to ensure dividing talent as equally as possible

Q. What are evaluations?

A. New players must attend evaluations, to be placed on a team. * IF your player is returning in the same league – they DO NOT need to attend evaluations. * IF your player is moving up to a new league – they MUST attend Evaluations. At evaluations, players will be lined up, given a basketball, shown a drill they will perform, then players are allowed to leave and will be contacted in the days to follow once the draft is completed.

Q.  If I sign up and get placed on the waitlist, when do I know if I’m on a team or when I get a refund?

A.  a waitlist child will be placed on a team if a child that got in registration decides to quit or if a child gets injured early in the season and cannot play. It is possible a child gets pulled off the waitlist to fill an open roster position a couple of weeks into the season. Therefore, a refund may not come through until several weeks into the season. Children that are not placed on a team from the waitlist will be refunded.

Q. When will I be contacted by our coach?

 A. Coaches will notify players on the Sunday following evaluations and Draft day. Teams will have one practice, and one game a week (weather permitting)

if your child was on the Waitlist they will only be contacted if they have made it to a team via the draft or potentially after the first week of practice should another player need to drop out.
